Brockhurst Junior Mixed School -
I went to this school from about 1935 to the outbreak of the 2nd. World War. The Games master was Harold Wilkins or Wilkinson. He was very keen
on football and I think played for Gosport Borough - he used to give us passes to watch matches at Privett Park. I was a member of the school team who won a Schools Cup Competition just before the War.
Other members were George Woodsford and Ken White. Soon after that I won a Scholarship to the Grammar School and after a period of schooling in peoples front rooms and then Grove Rd. School , I was
evacuated to Eastleigh where I remained until V.E day. Regards
