I started at the Infants School (the single story on the right) in 1947. Miss Dyer was the head.
I progressed to the Junior School the two story building in 1949. The younger classes were downstairs and the older two years were on the upper floor.
There was no sports hall or assembly hall. PE was in the playground!
As I remember from the markings on the concrete lintels above the entrances at some time earlier it could have been girls downstairs and boys upstairs. But
I might be wrong on that one.
Mr Rundle was head of the Junior school. His office was downstairs with the cane very visible if you walked by. There was a brown varnished
"honours" board on the wall listing all who had passed the Scholarship (11+).
