I lived in married quarters just off Cambridge Rd. (my Dad was in the RAF) I attended Brockhurst Jnr School. The Headmistress was a Miss A.A.E.Small.
About 1937 Dad retired and we moved to Hill Park Road where I met my husband Chris who lived at 60 Virginia Park Road. I attended Siskin ChurchI remember Chris and I cycling
to a place called Browndown - and spending hours at the swimming pool in Gossy......The Ritz cinema...
I have been back to Gosport - in 1990 and the RAF station is no more. Chris attended Portsmouth Grammar School - he won a Scholarship.
Stokes Bay - we walked from Cambridge Rd - a long way.
There was a fish and chip shop just over the level crossing in Cambridge Rd and further down a newsagent Malloys - I passed betting slips under the counter... given a penny
for my trouble......
The picture of Brockhurst School was really nostalgic (Roy Churcher)
O happy happy childhood days.
