I've discovered that the music was written by Ernest Douglass FRCO, and the words by S H Barker B.Litt. It was published by Novello & Co at an unknown date, but thought to be shortly before 2nd World War, as
it was written in honour of the first headmaster, Leslie Keating, who retired in about 1937.
This info was taken from www.davemack.supanet.com/bayhouse/bhs1.htm where there is more details, including the words (which hardly any of us would forget anyway, as it was sung so often) and the 'alternative words
(ditto!!!)
