Since my last report, I have received confirmation of my new domain ‘www.gosport.info’. I hope this will be better than the others I registered - I also registered ‘www.gosport.biz’. I will keep the other names, as they only cost £2.50 a year each for the ‘.UK’ domains. |

Though I have yet made much money from my site (that was not the intention), a gentleman from the USA whose grandparents lived in Gosport (he also spent his early years here) asked for some photos of a few places, including his Grandmother’s old house. I replied, and confirmed that I would send the photos, which is the offer I give on the site. This has encouraged a number of additional people to contact me. |

I said that to send the photos may take a few week, as I would have to take some of them using my film camera. He replied , thanking me for the photo’s that I had sent and added that, he had ordered a digital camera, which he hoped I would accept. I e-mailed him back to let him know what I was doing with the site, including the hope that it would in the future cover its cost and perhaps produce an income. The camera he sent at the time cost £129 in Argos, though I did have to buy a 240-volt adapter as it came with a 110-volt adapter. I have found it of great use adding more photos to the site than I could afford to using a film camera, especially as I prefer slide film. |

I have left the search engines for too long - I wanted to leave it until I felt the site was better. In December I made use of Hello Engine software which came from the 1 and 1 hosting. So far I have only tried the automated submission part and it has already doubled the number of hits, unless it has been affected by something else. Do not leave it so long for your site. NEXT |
