1) I am from Hampshire County Council's Trading Standards Department.
Our project 'Protecting Older People from Doorstep Crime' was launched in Fareham in November and we are coming to Gosport in February. Through our work with Rogue Traders and general baddies who prey on the more
vulnerable within a community, mainly the elderly, we have set up this project in an attempt to raise awareness. We can offer booklets and door stickers and also have been speaking at Older Peoples' Social Clubs and
Groups. I am having a problem tracking down Older People's groups in your area and wonder if your pages could help me. We are a free service and will visit any time during the day or evening. Our talk lasts about 40
minutes. In this time, we cover Rogue Traders, Bogus callers, Distraction Burglary, nuisance telephone calls and unwanted post, Scam competitions and much more. Our audiences are grateful to be told about what's
going on and appreciate being advised on how they can avoid being caught out.Our launch will be in Thorngate Halls on 28th February, if you are any interested people would like an invitation, you need only contact
me. this launch will go into the project in more detail and an information pack on the day will give all details and contact information. With my thanks, Jane Gulliver, Hampshire County Council, Regulatory Services,

2) There is now a web site that records Gosport's weather, there is a link
from the left hand side of each page of Gosport.info or it can be found at it has the currecnt weather and historical records.
3) I have had a display, well a few posters etc at the Bridgemary Car Boot Sale last Sunday, the have offered a pitch about once a month, so if you have information you want added to Gosport.info, you could
let me have it there, the current plan is the first Sunday of the month. Though they told me the Car Boot Sales are quiet at the moment, it did not seem like it to me, I was surprised to see so many stalls and good
number of people coming round. You will find details at .
4) I have now added about 150 of the photos that have
been sent, many from Hugh Beaver, some from John Waldock, with photos of Lee-on-the-Solent, plus some other photos from others. I hope to add more over the next week or so, then I will have an idea of places that I
need to go out and photograph and add to the site.
Best wishes. Ian Jeffery
