1) You may have noticed the requests for or offers of information about family history on the site. An example would be the newspaper cutting of Freda's grandfathers retirement from
Gosport railway around the early to mid 1920's. Do you know, or want information about your own family, please let me know.
2) I have asked if anyone has written books about Gosport or anyone with links to
Gosport has written a book that they would not mind my providing links to on the site, last month I told you about about Mudlark by John Sedden. This months books are by Peter Holman-Smith's detective novels set in
Fareport in Hamptonshire, currently two 'Charks Bones' and 'Double Top' details can be found at http://www.latonaartworks.com/ . He lived in Elson Road from 1936 - 1949 and now lives in the USA.
3) I have spent some time updating the business and organisation details on the site. If you are involved with a Gosport business or organisation, who would like the information added or
amended, let me know. If you come across information on the business and organisations that needs changing let me know, also if you find a business or organisation not on the site, so I can write to them to
check that they would have no objection to being added to the site.
4) Thank you to all of you who have sent photos to be added to Gosport.info. I am sorry that I am only slowly adding them, but over next few
months, when I will be doing less gardening over the winter, will make better progress. Please keep sending me any that you would not mind me adding to the site and I will put them on. So if you are looking out for
photos of some part of Gosport some time period, keep watching.
5) You will see that there is more information about the Discovery Centre events, in the main building, the old Museum building, now the Local
Studies Centre and the Gosport Gallery. I will be adding information to the 'Home Page' as well, this is possible as I met with the Discovery Centre Manager, Tim Wills, and he may provide direct information, I hope
to change the page most weeks to keep you up to date. If you are going to be in Gosport between now and 31st December, don't forget the 'Across The Board' exhibition from the British Museum in the Gosport
Gallery (Free). If you are a Gosport business or organisation that has events and would like the same treatment, just e-mail or send (or put though the door if going past) me the details and I will fit in what I
can. If I receive enough I may be able to update the 'Home Page' more often than once a week
