3) John Sadden has produced a new local history book - Portsmouth A Century of Change (part of the Britain in Old Photographs series published by The History Press ISBN - 978-0-7524-4877-0 . Though of Portsmouth, I am sure many people who have spent time in Gosport will recognise some of the places in the over 200 photographs in the book. In my case, I remembered when there was no Hard Interchange in Portsmouth so was able to describe from the photo in the book to my younger sister what it was like. Though I am sure photos of 'Frozen Over Portsmouth Harbour', 'Mud Larks', Isle of Wight Ferries', and other will be of interest to Gosport people. I understand that the RPI is £12.99, but you can get it for just over £11

5) I will be away from the 8th to 15th
August, so updates may not happen in that period, though my hope is , that I will be able to catch up with the emails that I have received, update other information that I have come across as
well as make the font and other changes to the site. It will depend on the Internet access and if anyone will do the the updates from my home. I would like to sort through the photos and the books
to answer some of the emails that I have received and to sort out the 'Request's pages; and index to make the questions and answers about Gosport easier to find, as in a suggestion, by a
very generous contributor to the site. I will need help, so please let me know if it can be improved.
6) Graham Freer has lived in Gosport, for 18 years, since he was
transferred here, to work with a Segensworth-based radio station (South Coast Radio, as was). He officially retired, at the age of 65, last October. Not wishing to "vegetate", he is
setting up this business (Local-Expertise.com). The idea behind the site is to ensure that, when someone is in need of any kind of expertise, they'll have a handy point of
reference.To promote the website, he will be producing a Quarterly magazine, featuring those Local Experts, who are relevant to that particular area.The Advertisers, shall
"populate" the website.Primarily, the magazine will be sent to Planning Applicants, in the 1st target area, which extends Westwards from Gosport to Warsash and Northwards to Wickham. An
area approximately 10 miles square. Also, when he is made aware of their presence, he will deliver copies to House Sellers and, also, to those who have an interest in improving their homes.
Once those key people have their magazines he will use the remainder, of that Quarter's production, for delivery to homes and businesses, within the same target area.

I understand Webgloss www.webgloss.com was able to produce the site in a day or so as all the information (text etc) was supplied quickly. They would not always be able to do this, but I understand providing the information quickly in full, can help with the production of your website. Abdeck do not make call out charges, give quick quotes/ estimates and can give discounts to OAPs.
7) Brenda Brooker has emailed about Gosport Council Press Releases a problem with uploading the information. In the past when I added the items to the Gosport.info Blog at http://gosportinfo.blogspot.com/ Google worried about a scam of some type. I will add the items over the next few
days. I hope if you want to know what is coming out of Gosport Council or any other Gosport organisations that ave something to say. I tend to add the information supplied in full. Other
groups including GVA, Explosion and others send me their press releases, which I am happy to add to the Gosport.info blogg. You can also sent me your news, any connection to Gosport.
