1) Thank you for visiting the Gosport.info web site, I understand a number of people use it to look up various information about Gosport. I have been a bit behind in adding items sent in. I hope this has
not caused you any problems. I am now catching up and will have some time over the Christmas and New Year period so if you have items for me to add and are able to email them to me over the next few
weeks, that will be a great help.
2) I have been sent a couple of Christmas Fayres, sorry I have not been able to go out and find them. If you have an event, please let me have the details and I will publicise them.
3) Thank you to those who have sent in 2009 events, if you are planning some events next year, even if the full details are not yet known, please let me have what you have so I can start putting them on
the web site, you can sent me updates as you settle the details.
4) A Christmas Evening in Lee' will be held on Friday December the 5th. The evening will see the switching on of the Christmas tree and High Street lights, attended by the Mayor of Gosport, Councillor
Derek Kimber, followed by Carols led by the Reverend Peter Sutton and accompanied by the Gosport Silver Band, start time 6.30pm. Live Jazz by Jacuzzi to support the late opening of shops and with a
spectacular Fireworks Display at 8.30pm from the seafront-west end.
5) - I am searching for Darby and Tomlins families - Darbys, ironmongers in Gosport, Portsea and Fareham in the 19th century. And anything on Darby's Yard in
Gosport. Barbara Clements I have put this in this email in 2 places on the Gosport.info web sitewww.gosport.info and on the Gosport.info Blog at http://gosportinfo.blogspot.com/ to see which is the most successful. I have heard about Darby's Yard, but know no more about it..Ian Jeffery
