1) I did set-up a stand to publicise Gosport.info, there
is a photo of it on the web site. It was a very warm day, though a bit blowy for the gazebos that many used. There seemed to be a good turnout in particular as it was the afternoon of England's first
match of the World Cup. I was good to see those of you who came up and had a chat. I also intend to be at the Gosporteers Bus and Car Rally on Monday 28th August 2006 at Stoke Bay, and the Michaelmas
Fare on Walpole Park on 23rd September, so I hope to see you there.
2) I have added two more articles to the , by Mr David Maber and Mrs Joan Russell, I hope that you enjoy the articles, photos and maps that go with them, one is about Gilkicker and Kickergill seamarks at Spithead. The other memories of 'The Hulk' the C1 floating coalyard that served the Royal Navy for 60 years. I hope to keep adding more as time goes on so please keep looking, and if you have memories that you will be happy to add to the site, I am waiting to hear from you.
3) A month of so ago Paul Harris, sent me a milk bill from 1939 for The Solent Dairy in Lee-on-the-Solent. I found it interesting for a number of things, I hope you will also. It gave me the idea to set-up a new section from the 'History Page' called 'Gosport Ephemera' there is currently a link to the section from the 'Home Page', though I have spotted that the link from the 'History Page' has not been set-up properly, but will have that fixed over the next week, as well as links from other pages. I have also added the Hovershow 76 Programme . I have a few other items, mainly to do with St John Church , which I will add over time, but if you have items that you would be happy to lend to me to scan and add to the site, or if you have them scanned, that you can send to me in an e-mail they will be gratefully received and I hope that you will enjoy seeing them and others on the site.
4) Do you have any ideas on how I can make Gosport.info better known in Gosport, in particular, I can spend a bit of money on it from the amount that comes from the Google Adwords? Please let me know.
