1) The site has now been moved from 1&1 Hosting to Webgloss of Gosport. From the end of the month a couple of domains will no longer direct you to the Gosport Info web site, they
are ianrjeffery.com ianrjeffery.net and gosportburialgrounds.org.uk. If you want to get to the site, please use www.gosport.info , the only problem is a number of the entries on search engines for the site are under
the ianrjeffery.com, so I will be interested to see if the entries change.
2) There was an article in the Gosport Voluntary Action Newsletter, asking for information and entries for the Gosport Info web site. This has been more successful than any of the other
methods used to request information for the site, except people going on to the site and sending in information and photos.
3) There will be a celebration of the 800 years of Gosport in July 2004 starting with the Waterfront Festival and ending with the; Gosport Community Carnival, Still Alive & Kicking
800 Years On. On the 24th July. The idea is to get people of Gosport to do things for the event, for example it is understood the final 'Dogfight'of the War took place over Gosport, so a company who sell mobility
scooters (if you are the company and the information is correct, please let me know and I will give you a mention), is going to kit them out as Second World War Aircraft to do a 'Dogfight'. For more information,
keep an eye on the '800 Celebration' part of the site or contact Jackie Charman on 023 9258 0096. If you are a Gosport business or organisation, you may want to make sure that you are involved. Myself, I would like
to carry the suggestions of those of you who have you connections with Gosport, but are now away. Please let me know your ideas of what should be included and your memories. Also if you are planning to make a visit
to Gosport next year, or any time, let me know.
4) I am very behind with the adding of information to the site, though all that has been sent is now on, and very behind with the photos. I understand some old Gosport buildings are to
be replaced, so will be taking photos of those places first. As part of my work is gardening and another part includes Tax Returns, I hope to have more time over the next few months, so will spend some more of that
time adding to the site.
