1) The Gosport.info site has been on the Internet for just over 4 years, though previously under a different domain name. Thanks to information provided by you and others, your interest
in the site, it has been possible to keep adding to it. I welcome any comments and suggestions for changes. I have recently tried 'Gosport' in the search box of number of Search Engines, including Google, Yahoo,
BBCi, Lycos and others and found that Gosport.info appears in the second position in a number of them, after the Gosport Council one. I do not know why, but suspect that it may be due to the number of you going to
the site and spending time looking at the information on the site. Thank you.
2) If you are an author in or with links to Gosport, or have written books which include something about Gosport,
fiction or non-fiction, please let me know if you would be happy for a link to be added with other information about your book, to where it can be bought.
3) I have been given the permission to include the
full booklet by Mr George Paxton called 'St John Recollections and Remembrances' on the web site. I have added all the pages, there is currently a link from the Home Page, though it can also be reached from the
'History' page. If you have produced a booklet or leaflet about something to do with Gosport, that you would not mind being added to Gosport.info, please let me know.
4) When I wrote to the businesses and
organisations, a number of them contacted me with further information, thank you, Northcott House, sent me a leaflet about Northcott House and a booklet about the history of the God's Port Housing Society, with a
note saying 'you may use the enclosed information' . I have added the information from both to the web site, both currently have a link from the 'Home' page, but can also be reached, from the Northcott House details
on both organisations and 'Rest Homes' page or the 'History' page.
5) It has been suggested that a part of Gosport.info or another site is used to help people from overseas (perhaps even other areas of the
UK) to get in contact with each other and find information that will be useful to them. An example is at www.ifg.nu (International Friends of Gothenburg). Please let me know if you feel that this would be something to add.
