I have received a complaint about one of the 'Ghost Stories' the one about Bay House School. I understand that some of the facts? have been checked and are not true, according to the information received.

On the web site there are three sections for this type of thing, 'Stories' 'Memories' and 'History'. The story section, has information from people with a link to Gosport, but there is no other confirmation of the story, an area for folk tails of Gosport with any amount of fact. The Memories section, is the area for memories  of Gosport, all our memories sometimes fail, but they are still our memories. The History section has information that can be backed up by other sources.

Just because something is in the stories section it does not mean that it is not factual, in fact one of the stories in the story section has turned out to be more factual than I expected. As I am not a historian, information in the History section may end up not being totally factual. Historians sometimes disagree or change their minds.

I hope what ever section you are interested in you will find them interesting, usefull or both. Don’t forget I am quite happy to add alternative views to a section, whether, history, memories or stories and the more different views that there are the more chance for for the facts to be found.

So if you disagree or even agree with something you see, please let me know and I will do my best to add them to the site.

Thank you, Ian Jeffery
