I have decided to remove the offer of fixed price adverts, partly as it has caused some confusion about the Gosport.info way of doing things. I did make the offer a year or 2 ago, but as no one has paid for an advert it will not make any difference to how the site is run. I will still put free ads on for those who help the site out in some way. I know some do not like the Google Adwords, I understand that it slows down the web site for dial-up viewers. I am sorry but it has paid for the turning up at various Gosport events, leaflets, pens and badges to publicise the web site. We are lucky in the UK as most live close enough to have reasonable broadband speed, though it is never enough. If you would like to sponsor a page, a section or the whole of the site by contributing an amount for extra time, effort or expense to improve the information on the site or say to cover the cost or removing a block of Google Adwords or anything else that you can think of, contact me to say what you want. |

A great way many help the web site, is sending me information about changes required or additional businesses, organisations, what’s on or other Gosport information and photos, so if you can help say seeing a business closing or a new opening, as and example, send me an email and I will contact them to confirm that it is OK to add their information. |

Any income made will go in to the running costs of the site and, if successful pay for work that I need to do to put more information on the site, for example, before I put the details of a business or organisation on the site, I write to them, OK if they have an e-mail address, otherwise I hand deliver the letters. I could save a lot of time, so could do more if I posted them. I would also like to look in to cards in shop windows and leaflet delivery. Obtaining more Gosport memories and historical research. |
