Pre 1960's Gosport Ferry by Steve Burton 2001

The ferry Vita, now on the River Thames , I understand from Steve Burton, that this was one of the Gosport ferries that run across Portsmouth Harbour in to the 1960's.
Alan Baptist added - All three of the 1950's/1960's diesel boats went to London. I believe at least one is still running trips on the Thames.

Mike Lennox - a Boatmaster with British Waterways sent an e-mail with the following information.

I can update your entry for the Vita. She is indeed working on the Tidal River Thames. She is operated by City Cruises and I was on her in September 2003 from Tower Pier to Westminster Pier and return. As an ex RN Medic from Haslar I recognised her straight away.
