My name is Eric Moore I Have live now for 31 years in New Zealand with my family , I was born at 228 Forton Road right next to the Elm Tree
pub on 17th May 1929 and lived there to 1947. I worked at the RNA Depot at Bedenham with my Father as a young boy .
Joining the Royal Marines at Eastney Barracks Southsea on the 3rd February 1947, I served for 24 years, up mainly in 45 Commando,
retiring on the 6th Nov 1971 , I lost touch with my family over the years due to being stationed at the MOD Whitehall in London from 1961 to 1971 never being able go back to Gosport. I was the driver
to 3 Commandant Generals of the Royal Marines as a Sergeant. Emigrated to New Zealand from London on the 6th January 1972 with my Wife Ann and our two sons arriving here on 17th February. I became a senior
prison officer in Auckland for 17 years, finally retiring in July 1989. I then lived in Manurewa which is part of Manukau City next to Auckland City , so there you are my life history - Eric Moore .
