- I am Mala Balakrishnan nee Halder
from Calcutta (now Kolkata), India... I studied at Woodcot County Primary Junior School, Bridgemary from 1957 to 1963. I used to live in 44 Tukes Avenue, Bridgemary. I had the opportunity of going back to
Gosport for a day in 2003 when I contacted the current Principal of my old school. I did meet up with one of my old school friends but would like to meet up with anyone who was in my particular class when I left .
My school teacher was Miss E.L. Damp and our Headmaster was Mr L N Waterfield. There was several classmates whose names I remember well and a couple who had lived in Malta earlier whom I am anxious to trace. I will
write again on hearing from you. Thank you for this amazing site. Best regards Mala (10/5/07)

- My enquiry concerns two Gosport evacuees (brother and sister) who came to live with us in our home at during the Second World War. Both arrived in
1940. I was only 4 years old at the time, but remember, vividly, their arrival on this particular afternoon, and can recall my mother's story surrounding how this particular pair of children were chosen by her.
Their names: Freda and John Mills, who up until then lived with their mother and father in San Diego Rd, Gosport
Our address was: 3 Vernon Hill Cottage Vernon Hill, Bishop's Waltham. They stayed quite a while - perhaps a couple of years, maybe longer, but certainly at the end of the war the two families maintained contact for several years. I vividly remember spending part of a school holiday with the Mills' family, so a firm bond was established between us. The Gosport to Portsmouth Ferry was a fascinating place to spend the day going back and forwards for 2d. Peter West (29th July 2007)

- I am hoping to contact a Jacqueline and/or Wendy Bucksey
from the Gosport area who I knew when I was in Malta in 1966/67. Jackie worked at the Naval base at St. Angelo and her father was a Naval Officer there. We were part of a group of friends who had a great time together, dining out, swimming and bowling etc. I've just found a lot of photos from that time, which I thought were lost, and would love to get in touch and send them copies. Its about 40 years ago now, but those days still seem like yesterday. If anyone can put me in touch with them, or have them contact me, I would be very grateful. G.Davies (Somerset) (Added 3rd December 2007)
