After many years the British Red Cross has pulled out of supporting Clubs for Senior Citizens throughout the whole of Hampshire However, through the hard work of those who considered these Clubs essential to the community they go on CLUB HAMPSHIRE There are four Clubs that meet in the Club Hampshire Centre, The Anchorage, Willis Road (023 92584370) Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, a Games Club Wednesday morning and an Art and Craft Group on Friday morning.The new Charity is called Club Hampshire and they support 4 Clubs that continue to meet in the Centre at The Anchorage, Willis Road, Gosport To qualify the age group for the Clubs, is anyone over 50 years old and those who are disabled. We are also looking for volunteers to help in the Clubs and volunteer drivers to bring members to the Clubs. A mileage rate of 40p is paid to drivers. To volunteer and get more details ring the above number and leave a message. Mini bus drivers do need to be Midas qualified but training for that can be done through Club Hampshire once a commitment is made. Willing hands on Club afternoon are always needed and anyone who thinks this may be for them is welcome to come and see what goes on during the afternoon. At the moment we have three Clubs that meet between 1pm and 3.30 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We are hoping to open the Wednesday Club once we have the right leader and other volunteers. The Clubs are self supporting and twice a year we have an event to raise money for both the Club Hampshire Charity. (Many people still know this as the Red Cross Centre even though
