Looks for a volunteer with an interest in local history. |

There is a matter I would like publicised, basically it is to find a successor to my involvement in local history. I have been active with research, writing articles and undertaking talks since 1984, now, at the age of 74 years I wish to wind down a little but only if someone out there is willing to step into my shoes. I have a wonderful collection of files on local history that I am willing to part with to that person who will take an interest and involve themselves with sharing our local fascinating history with other Gosport residents. The more inquisitive my successor, the better. This is not the gateway to profit but the rewards are there when reading the appreciation on faces of an audience and the satisfaction is there when passing so many local items of historical interest and at the same time being aware of their interesting past. I do not wish to be 'ageist' but I visualize this would interest a person of 50 years plus whose future is linked to Gosport.
